The c.1958 network map, scanned here in three sections, was to a design by "Reitz". This is artist and graphic designer F. H. Reitz, a German Jewish emigré who also underook design work for a map of Britain's motor coach network at around the same time. This Reitz base map, uses a fairly angular design for the map and this was amended for his maps of the network in the early 1960s to a less rigorous design and that was also used for the 'first' of the new British Rail maps in 1965.
I suspect that this map is c.1958; although some lines have closed pre-Beeching, such as those on East Anglia that left Melton Constable as a terminus of the branch from Sheringham, there are a few lines that would soon close but still shown and these include Cardigan, Peebles, and lines via Andoversford.
The map also shows the new British Railways symbol introduced in 1956 and designed with assistance from Charles Franklyn.
This scan shows the bulk of Wales; Central and South Wales, the Midlands and across into East Anglia along with London, the Home Counties, South East England and west through Southern England to the West Country.

While the Cromer Bus Interchange/Travel Hub revamp work was underway, Sanders 44 Group services were on diversion and using alternative bus stops in the town from Monday 13th January 2025 onwards as follows,
Norwich bound journeys took their normal route from Runton Road onto Beach Road where they temporarily used the bus stop situated adjacent to the Cadogan Road Car Park. They then continued to the Church Street bus stop by way of Holt Road, West Street, Prince of Wales Road and Hamilton Road. As from Tuesday 18th March the stop on Cadogan Road reopened and these journeys reverted back to their normal route.
Sheringham bound journeys served the stop on Louden Road before continuing via West Street and Holt Road to Beach Road where they used the bus stop situated adjacent to Morrisons Supermarket. They then continued along Beach Road before making the unusual left turn onto Runton Road. The work having finally been completed today, sees these journeys and all other services reverting back to their normal routes/stops as from tomorrow, Friday 18th April 2025.
In this shot Sanders former Reading Buses East Lancs bodied Scania N94UD Omnidekka types, number 118 - YN06 JWF is captured turning from Beach Road onto Runton Road in Cromer as it works the above diverted Sheringham bound service 44A journey. Although buses regularly make the turn from Runton Road onto Beach Road, under normal circumstances no buses/services would carry out the same manoeuvre when heading in the direction shown above.
The Albany Court apartments to the left and rear of 118 are located on the site of the former Grand Hotel. Opened in 1891, it reopened after being requisitioned during WWII until 1969 when it was renamed by new owners as The Albany Hotel. That same year it suffered a “Red Frost” and the remains of the imposing building were demolished.
Vehicle 118 continues to have an identity problem as of course it was originally given the name “ARAMIS”. However, since December 2024 it has been fitted with the front panel of now withdrawn vehicle and fellow Musketeer 119 - YN06 YWP “PORTHOS”.
