Film noir homage, "The Crooked Way," 1949, truck accident, Tucson, Arizona

This film was derived from a radio production in those glory days of radio drama. The stunning cinematography by the Hungarian wizard of light and darkness, John Alton (1901-1996), elevates the film from its minor status in the film noir cannon.

Alton wrote several books on photography as an art. "Painting With Light" is his most notable.
