The salmon-crested cockatoo (Cacatua moluccensis) aka Moluccan cockatoo is endemic to the Seram archipelago in eastern Indonesia. It is an endangered species and can no longer be imported into the United States because it is listed on the Wild Bird Conservation Act. Female western lowland gorilla (gorilla gorilla gorilla) called "Imani" relaxing in the grass. Imani was born at the San Diego Zoo on 10/16/95 to Kimba Kumba and Memba and now lives in a troop at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park with her daughter, Joanne.
Conservation Status: Critically Endangered
Sumatran Tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) born 7-12-23 to mom Diana and dad Dumai at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Named Hutan which means Forest in Malay, he and his sister Puteri resulted from a breeding recommendation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Sumatran Tiger Species Survival Plan (SSP).
With only an estimated 400 to 600 remaining in native habitats, Sumatran tigers are critically endangered.
