Taking the Eurostar from Gare du Nord in Paris to London was an unforgettable experience for our family, especially for Sam. The journey began at the bustling Gare du Nord, where the excitement was palpable. As we stepped onto the sleek Eurostar train, I saw Sam’s eyes light up with anticipation—it was his first time, and the thrill of traveling between two iconic cities was written all over his face.

As the train sped through the picturesque French countryside, Sam couldn’t contain his excitement, pressing his nose to the window, eager to see what lay ahead. The transition from the French landscape to the dark passage of the Channel Tunnel felt like an adventure, a journey from one world to another. I couldn’t resist capturing the moment—a photo of Sam, his smile wide, ready to bet on the Eurorail to London, marking a new experience for him and for all of us.

When we arrived at St Pancras International, with its stunning Victorian architecture, it felt like the beginning of a new chapter in our family’s travels. It wasn’t just about reaching London; it was about the joy of sharing this first-time experience together, creating memories that we’ll cherish forever.

Wild raspberries have become a delightful addition to my garden, ripening beautifully in mid to late summer. Though smaller than store-bought varieties, their intense, sweet, and slightly tangy flavor is unparalleled. I have a mix of red and black raspberries, adding vibrant color and taste to my summer harvest.

Having an arsenal of NERF guns at home turns any day into a fun-filled adventure. Our collection, scattered all over the house, includes a variety of models, from compact pistols to powerful blasters, catering to different play styles. While our NERF gear is far from organized, it adds to the excitement of impromptu battles.

Ever consider drawing a blank. Actually, I do it often and it is very evident in some of my photographs. You can call it lazy, or lacking. Again, this exercise of a 'picture a day' can be taxing but also quite rewarding. And, quite honestly I am not sure if I should call this thinking outside the box, but all I could think of trying to emulate what I was feeling without leaning into photoshop. So, here's me drawing a blank - quite literally in coming up with a photograph for today. I guess you can say it's half a selfie with a really fast shutter speed.. umm..actually that's the table.

Nestled comfortably in her crate, Tessie relaxes, her curly fur creating a cozy nest. The soft padding beneath her makes her crate the perfect sanctuary. With her head resting on her paws and her eyes slowly closing, she lets out a contented sigh, feeling safe and secure. In this serene moment, the gentle rhythm of her breathing is the only sound, as she drifts into a peaceful slumber.

Hummingbirds are small, vibrant birds native to the Americas, known for their extraordinary flight abilities and iridescent feathers. They can hover, fly backwards, and even upside down, thanks to their rapid wing flapping of up to 80 beats per second. To sustain their high metabolism, they consume large amounts of nectar and insects, with heart rates reaching up to 1,260 beats per minute.

Found from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, they thrive especially in tropical regions. Males perform aerial displays to attract females, who then build nests and care for the young alone. Hummingbirds are vital pollinators, aiding the reproduction of many plants. While many species are common, some face threats from habitat loss and climate change, making conservation efforts crucial.

Today's image highlights the arrival of hummingbirds in Massachusetts. I bought a feeder and sure enough, within hours I had a visitor. I will continue to monitor and take more pictures. If I am able to capture these fast birds, you will find some pictures here.

Today's image was taken at Sam's school during our family picnic day. The weather was perfect, and the kids enjoyed playing and running around. Pat the Patriot and two Patriots Cheerleaders made special appearances. The Foxboro Fire Department delighted the kids by spraying cool water from a fire engine. We shared pizza and connected with other parents. It was a fantastic time for everyone.

This afternoon, I noticed an unusual movement in the corner of my yard. Curiosity piqued, I walked over to find a water turtle slowly making its way across the grass. It seemed to have a purpose, and I decided to watch from a distance.

The turtle stopped at a patch of soil near the edge of the garden. With deliberate motions, it began to dig a hole with its hind legs. The process was slow and methodical, and I could see the effort it took for the turtle to create a nest. After some time, it began to lay eggs, carefully depositing each one into the hole. It was fascinating to witness such a natural and ancient act of life unfolding right in my yard.
