Shenks Ferry #2

Grubb Run flows east-west along a deeply cut and forested valley before joining the Susquehanna. The south-facing side of this valley features an annual explosion of spring wildflowers. Such a delight to see. Thanks for stopping.

An interesting Facebook post about the unique trilliums that can be found along the Susquehanna:

Shenks Ferry #1

A delightful piece of spring woodland wildflower lovliness in the Susquehanna valley. Home to over 70 species of wildflowers, plus 50 species of birds. A copy of iNaturalist on my phone came in very handy.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Conklin, NY Susquehanna Valley Central School, 1968 - Bus No. 44 - (circa) 1960 Oneida Monoliner

Ski club students from Susquehanna Central pose with bus number 44 in this 1968 portrait. This was probably among the last Monoliner's built and is either on a Marmon-Herrington or Reo rear engine chassis. These Monoliner buses were quite modern for the day and this one has a particularly sturdy look thanks to the heavy cast spoke wheels.
