Another batch of candid snaps captured during the last, Day 3 of Surva Fest 2025. None of them are posed or set up, all the impressions were captured during the procession and performance of the groups on the event square.
Surva is listed among the Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO. "It is a ritual symbolizing the cleansing power of the new beginning with wishes for health and a bountiful harvest. Bulgarian masquerade rituals go back thousands of years to the earliest pagan times. Masquerade games were practiced as the new year took over from the old and during nature’s spring awakening. I´ve captured an immense amount of candids, about 10k, hence it is very hard to select the best snaps.
