Yesterday and today I saw my first ruffs (Calidris pugnax) this year, on Jæren like these ones from the archive. (The one with the flag was ringed on the same spot just one month earlier.)
They breed in marshes and wet meadows across northern Eurasia. In Norway, they breed in the north and in the mountains.
