This embroidery technique called Baldyring was popular in Denmark from 1830 to 1850. The old version was done with cloth and a lot smaller. My version is totally made out of paper and thread. I made it larger because my cutting skills were unable to make it smaller.

All the materials used were found at a fleamarket or in a thrift store.

Another page in the series of old patterns is done. Although this one was originally done in white on a tablecloth I decided to give the pattern a folklore-feel through the colours I chose.

This pattern is from 1912

Another small step taken

Today I made a long video for the first time. If you like to embroider, I invite you to stitch along with me.

Halfway

Last week the flu paid me a visit and we spent some lovely time in bed together. I do feel better now but embroidery requires focus and focus requires energy. Unfortunately the flu emptied my battery and therefore I am really happy to tell you that I'm halfway on my page. For me it is a sign of recovery! :-)

This pattern was published in 1912.

Working sheet

Before the embroidery in my old pattern book can start, I need to make a copy of the pattern I want to embroider.
This drawing I lay upon the page in my book and prick all the holes. After this the coloured fun can start again!

This way you can embroider almost anything on paper!

Enjoy your friday and the start of the weekend!

A folklore page

This pattern sheet was printed in 1910. The colours I used give it a folklore-feeling, at least to me .. :-))

Enjoy your tuesday!

A colourful one

Another page is stitched, it became a colourful one. When I finished the sun appeared for a few minutes and I hurried to make the most of it ... :-)

A colourful one

Another page is stitched, it became a colourful one. When I finished the sun appeared for a few minutes and I hurried to make the most of it. This became a bit of a "dramatic" photo .. :-)

Have a lovely tuesday!

Three different stitches and two different greens were needed to create this possibility.
