Here I've borrowed the stone clad front facade of the Oxford University Said Business School as a backdrop for this shot of people rushing to the train station.

From Wikipedia, "Saïd Business School (Oxford Saïd or SBS) is the business school of the University of Oxford. The school is a provider of management education.

Business and management classes started at Oxford in 1965 when the Centre of Management Studies, later relaunched as Templeton College, Oxford, was founded. In 1988, a committee chaired by Claus Moser, Baron Moser recommended that the University create a new School of Management Studies. By 1990, Clark L. Brundin became founding director of Oxford's school of management studies. In 1996, the school re-branded as Saïd Business School after a donation of £28 million from Wafic Saïd. New premises were built on Park End Street and opened in 2001. The Thatcher Business Education Centre was opened on the same site in 2012 after a further donation from Saïd."

Christ Church College.

Christ Church is one of Oxford's 39 colleges.

Originally founded by Cardinal Wolsey as Cardinal's College in 1524. It's name was changed to Christ Church College by King Henry VIII in 1546.

The best-known Christ Church graduates are too numerous to list but perhaps I should mention that the college's alumni includes 13 of the 31 British prime ministers educated at Oxford.

Grade I Listed.

The Great Hall

The college's Dining Hall.

The Great Hall has been in almost constant use since the sixteenth century (built in the 1520s).

Members of the college eat three daily meals here, including a formal dinner in the evenings, where gowns must be worn.

Tom Tower

A bell tower named for its bell, Great Tom.

Located over Tom Gate, the main entrance of Christ Church College. The gateway leads into Tom Quad.

Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and built in 1681–82 by Christopher Kempster of Burford.

Great Tom is still sounded 101 times every night, which signifies the 100 original scholars of the college plus one (added in 1663).

It is rung at 21:05 current UK time, which corresponds to 21:00 in what used to be "Oxford time" (GMT noon always occurred five minutes later in Oxford than GMT noon in Greenwich).

At one time it was the signal for all the Oxford colleges to lock their gates.

This view is taken looking up St Aldates towards Carfax.

The Ashmolean

The Ashmolean is the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology. Founded in 1683, it was the world's first university museum. It was built to house the collections given to the museum by Elias Ashmole in 1677.

The world famous collections range from Egyptian mummies to contemporary art, telling human stories across cultures and time.

The Ashmolean’s collections are extraordinarily diverse, representing most of the world’s great civilisations, with objects dating from 8000 BC to the present day.

Among many riches there is the world’s greatest collection of Raphael drawings, the most important collection of Egyptian pre-Dynastic sculpture and ceramics outside Cairo, the only great Minoan collection in Britain, outstanding Anglo-Saxon treasures, and the foremost collection of modern Chinese painting in the Western world.

Sir Francis Chantrey
(1781-1841)

One of Britain's greatest sculptors.

His portrait busts of the renowned men and women of his time were admired for their naturalism and character.

These examples are from the Ashmolean's collection of nearly 170 plaster works by the sculptor, given to the Museum by Chantrey's widow in 1842.
