A beautiful male hybrid Goldeneye, exhibiting intermediate characteristics between Barrow's and Common Goldeneye. Bucephala clangula × islandica. Wintered on the pond at the base of Ediz Hook in Port Angeles, WA; seen by many birders. On a few winter visits I observed it distantly on the pond, but on March 5, 2025, I was lucky to find it feeding much closer.

A Nomad Bee (Nomada) photographed along the lower Dungeness River, Dungeness WA, April 8, 2025, as it warmed itself for just a few seconds on a sunny leaf. Best match seems to be the Early Nomad Bee (Nomada leucophthalma). Knowledgeable ID input welcomed!
