By popular demand I'm continuing to insert vertical shots between my more classic horizontal ones for more variety.
The Jidai festival is possibly the best place and time to get pictures like this of traditionally dressed "actors". Top tip: get to the Gosho at 10:00 in the morning and you can mingle and shoot to your heart content with great backgrounds. Much better than when they're all walking in the city.
This was shot with my old manual 200 f/2 but at f/4 because I was quite close and the DOF would have been ridiculously small (and hard to manually focus!)

This temple actually _owns_ the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) and the Silver Pavilion (Ginkaku-ji). Crazy I know... :-)
