The Castle of Almourol is a XII century medieval castle atop the islet of Almourol in the middle of the Tagus River, located in the civil parish of Praia do Ribatejo, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from the municipal seat of Vila Nova da Barquinha, in Portugal's Centre Region.
The castle was part of the defensive line controlled by the Knights Templar and one of the best representations of their influence in Portugal.

Not the selfie I thought I would do but I liked the result
We attended Summerfest here in North Frontenac again this year. It was the second year of the event and this year there seemed to be more out enjoying the various demonstrations, live music and vendors. The Falconry Demonstration was one that once again attracted many to see them in action. They had to be tethered only because there was a "petting zoo" with rabbits - a food source for many of these beautiful birds.
