The more or less original Bakkersstraat in May 1965. In the following years more and more buildings had to be demolished in this street, particularly on the right hand side. Twin axle tram 446+816 on one of the very last runs of line 5 which was canceled per 24 May 1965.

After dropping of football supporters at the Ajax stadium the extra trams head back to the depot or were stabled at the Amstelstation. When Ajax played it was usually quiet on the street and very respectable speed was achieved with this type of tram. The motortram has been preserved and is still, at times, in service in Amsterdam.© Henk Graalman 1963 (6797)
In March 1968 weekly 'last twin axle tram in service' trips were held.
It was definitely the last season these trams would see scheduled service. As itt was many of these trams were sidelined with even minor maintenance issues. Ultimately this tram, 463+757 on route 25, was the very last service some weeks later.
