Hippo in the early morning. They sleep on the banks of the river, hidden in the bush. Then they head to the water to feed.
This was taken near the Chobe River, Chobe National Park, Botswana. ( not Namibia as my geo map shows--that was across the river)
Fun fact-- hippos stay in relatively shallow waters because they can't swim. They do submerge and "hop" along the bottom, but do not swim.
