Train in a Vast Red & Green Pilbara Landscape: the interaction between a BHPIO iron ore train and the expanse of the Pilbara landscape is often quite spectacular.

This is a tele-shot bringing in close the impressive ridge in the background and including the "water feature".

This rack line is worked with tram size vehicles and replaced both a funicular and a very short electric tramway. The lower station at Römerhof provides a connection with the city trams and the section as far as Waldhaus was a funicular until 1972 and reopened with electric traction in 1973. At the same time the final section opened to restore a rail connection lost when the original tramway closed in 1930 and is entirely on private track whereas I think that the old tramway had used a street alignment.

Pacific National locos NR44/NR115/NR79 depart the crossing loop at Port Germein, South Australia with a Melbourne to Port Augusta Steelink service on Tuesday, 3 February 2015.

With a fairly light load in tow it is likely that only one loco was working.

R761 and R707 drop into Taradale with Steamrail's Maldon Experience. Further down the line they crossed a failed PN grain train which caused the cancellation of several V/line services, throwing the timetable into chaos.
