Another shot from the trip to the north at the end of last month with Steve and Rob.
We moved on from Loch Loyal to this hillside with a view over Lochan Hakel to Ben Loyal from the opposite side. We spent quite a lot of time waiting around, hoping for a break in the overcast conditions to light the hill, but there was only the occassional thinning of the cloud that allowed weak sunlight on the peaks and some sparkle on the surface of the loch.

As the evening light settled over Liverpool’s historic waterfront, the quiet hum of the city softened into a peaceful stillness. The tugboat Brocklebank stood moored beside the cobbled dock, her hull kissed by reflections of the modern skyline. Across the glassy water, architecture new and old whispered stories of a city shaped by the sea. In this moment, the past and present met in harmony—timeless, still, and glowing beneath a sky of fading blue.
