mischievous, noisy/raucous and sometimes destructive cockatoo species which has benefited from land clearing --- eats berries, fruits, nuts , roots, olives etc and can live at least 80 years. LOVES fruit trees. Also strips insulation from wiring and will destroy wooden items such as timber decking, wooden wall. features etc.

A commenter on Flickr noted that another specimen of this beetle was carrying Laboulbeniales fungi on its elytra. Seems to be true of this one as well. Likely Laboulbenia species, which has been reported from Galerita in the literature I can find.
