A good stretch and a yawn

A good stretch and a yawn.
As we all know there's nothing quite like a good stretch and a yawn when you wake up, as this Alaskan brown bear, waking up in a grassy meadow, demonstrates. This bear had been sleeping near the tree line by the shores of Cook Inlet, Alaska.

Bear in bushes

A grizzly bear on a heavily vegetated hillside looks at the camera and his body language, especially his lower lip, is showing he is starting to get a little annoyed. I got the message and left him alone to continue grazing on berries. Notice the rose hips (I think) at the lower left. Cariboo Chilcotin, BC.

Common Snipe hidden in dead grass.

I found this Snipe by using a thermal imager. I very much doubt that I'd have found it just with naked-eye observation. The bird is just about central in the picture and facing left.
