Isabella’s Longwing, Isabella's Tiger or Isabella's Heliconian (Eueides isabella) is a species of nymphalid butterfly, belonging to Heliconiinae subfamily.Some sources consider this species as Heliconius Isabella, or too Heliconius ismenius.
Isabella's Longwing can be found from Mexico and Central America to the Amazon Basin and the West Indies. The butterfly is an occasional immigrant to central and south Texas.
Habitats are tropical second-growth forest and woodland margins.
It can be found from sea level to 1,500 m.
The flight period extends to the whole year in the tropical habitat.
Isabella’s Longwing is a l butterfly with a wingspan of 7,5 - 9 cm.
The uppersides of the wings is dark brown, with orange bands and yellowish markings on the edges of the forewings.
The undersides of the wings are quite similar to the uppersides, but the edges of the hindwings show a series of small blue spots.

Eueides isabella is een vlinder uit de familie van de Nymphalidae.
Er is geen Nederlandse naam voor deze soort.
Deze relatief kleine vlinders hebben korte antennes met de kleuren zwart (mannetje) en geel (vrouwtje).
Deze vlindersoort komt voor van Mexico tot aan het Amazonegebied in Zuid-Amerika.

Passiflora, the passion flowers or passion vines, is a genus of about 500 species of flowering plants, the namesakes of the family Passifloraceae. They are mostly tropical climbing vines, with some being shrubs, and a few species being herbaceous. The flower come in many varieties with different flower sizes and colors.
A common passionflower color is purple, but the flowers also come in very bright pink, red, blue, yellow and green. The fruit of a passiflower is a berry.
The genus Passiflora is found in South and Central America, China, and Southern Asia, New Guinea, a few species in Australia, New Zealand and 9 species in southern North America. Passiflora is absent in Europe, northern and western Asia, and in Africa.
In Africa is growing the closely related genus Adenia in the family Passifloraceae.

De passiebloemen (Passiflora) is een geslacht van meest overblijvende en klimmende planten met ranken in de familie Passifloraceae. Ook zijn er bomen en struiken onder de passiebloemen. De zeer variabel gevormde bloemen komen in verschillende maten en kleuren voor. De meest algemene kleur is paars, maar er zijn ook fel roze, rode, blauwe, witte, gele en groene bloemen. De vrucht van een passiebloem is een groot uitgevallen bes. Er zijn ruim 500 soorten passiebloemen bekend.
Het natuurlijke verspreidingsgebied van de passiebloemen ligt in Midden- en Zuid-Amerika, op de Cariben en negen soorten in zuidelijk Noord-Amerika. In Zuid-Amerika komen ze voor van de Andes tot in tropisch laagland. Ook in Australië, Oceanië en in het zuiden en zuidoosten van Azië komen van oorsprong een klein aantal passiebloemen voor. Europa en Afrika hebben geen passiebloemen. In Afrika ligt wel het natuurlijke verspreidingsgebied van het verwante geslacht Adenia.

There's a beautiful, pink flower in my garden.
A beautiful, pink rose that blooms every year.
Its petals are as pink as the color of strawberry ice cream.
As soft as a baby bird's feather.
It smells of sweet perfume,
And the scent of clean clothes.

The glanville fritillary (Melitaea cinxia) is a beautiful orange and brown chequered butterfly with a wingspan of 32 - 45 mm,
The name "Glanville" is a tribute to Lady Eleanor Glanville, the 17th century naturalist who discovered the species.
These butterflies live in almost all of Europe, especially Finland, and in parts of northwest Africa. They are absent from the far north of Europe and parts of the Iberian Peninsula. To the east they are found in Turkey, Russia, northern Kazakhstan, and Mongolia.

De veldparelmoervlinder (Melitaea cinxia) is een mooie oranje vlinder met bruin geblokte lijnen. Op de achtervleugel staan stippen in de oranje band, die langs de rand van de vleugel loopt.
Hieraan is de vlinder te herkennen. De spanwijdte is 32 à 45 mm.
De veldparelmoervlinder komt in bijna heel Europa voor, met name in Finland, Ze ontbreken in het uiterste noorden van Europa en delen van het Iberisch Schiereiland. Ook in noordwest Afrika. worden ze aangetroffen. In het oosten zijn ze te vinden in Turkije, Rusland, Noord-Kazachstan en Mongolië.
In Nederland zijn ze zeldzaam, omdat Nederland te noordelijk ligt. Vooral in Zuid-Limburg komen ze voor.

De Zuiderheide is een natuurgebied bij Harskamp in de Nederlandse provincie Gelderland. De heide is ongeveer 1,6 km² groot.

The Green-veined White (Pieris napi) is a widespread and common butterfly of the Pieridae family occurring throughout Europe, temperate Asia, and at high altitudes in the Atlas mountains of north Africa. It also occurs in North America where it is known as the Mustard White. Other less frequently used names for this butterfly are Green-veined White, Margin White, Microstriata White and Sharp-veined White.
At first glance this looks like a small white butterfly. On closer inspection, when it is resting, you can see the gray-green lines on the underside of the wings which give this butterfly its name.
In both sexes, the upper surfaces of the wings are yellowish white and the forewings have blackish tips. Males have a central dark spot on the forewings, whereas females have two.
The wingspan is approximately 45 mm.
The Green-veined White is found in damp, grassy places with some shade, forest edges, hedgerows, meadows and wooded river valleys. It is found from sea level to 3500 meters.

Het klein geaderd witje (Pieris napi) is een dagvlinder uit de familie Pieridae, de witjes.
De vleugelspanwijdte is tot 45 mm. De grondkleur van de vleugels is wit, op de onderzijde is de ondervleugel en de vleugelpunt van de voorvleugel soms geel. De aders zijn aan de onderkant van de vleugels groengrijs bestoven, dit is echter in de zomer aanzienlijk minder duidelijk dan in het voorjaar. De soort is dan niet makkelijk te onderscheiden van het klein koolwitje.
Aan de bovenzijde van de voorvleugel heeft het mannetje een zwartige stip, het vrouwtje twee. De vlek aan de vleugelpunt (apex) is gelobd, en loopt naar beneden toe druppelsgewijs af.
Het klein geaderd witje komt grofweg op heel het Noordelijk halfrond voor. De vlinder vliegt van zeeniveau tot 3500 meter in berggebieden. Dit witje komt voor in veel habitattypen en landschappen. Het kan worden aangetroffen in open en meer gesloten landschappen, ook graslanden en heidevelden.
Het mag echter niet te droog zijn.
In Nederland en België is de soort zeer algemeen.
