XV673/27, Westland Sea King HU-5 SAR (CN WA661) of 771 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Navy photographed at the RNAS Culdrose Air Day 2015. Delivered as a HAS-1 in October 1970, the machine was upgraded throughout its life. Retired around the end of 2015, XV673 is preserved on external display at Culdrose. In common with a number of 771 Squadron machines, XV673 bears a legend relating to a famous rescue in which it participated, in this case, the yacht Drum in August 1985, owned at the time by Simon Le Bon from the popular beat combo Duran Duran.
