Queen Anne’s Lace (Daucus carota) plant, with its distinctive pointy bracts around the emerging flower. You can also see the hairy stem that helps distinguish Queen Anne’s Lace from lookalikes. Set against a backdrop of wild raspberries and Virginia creeper.

Photo taken early July 2022 at Merry Christmas Mine Hill, part of the Pendarvis historic site in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.

Daucus carota is not native to the United States, and sometimes considered a weed or invasive.
