Um für die verfolgten und benachteiligten Christen in der Welt zu beten und auf ihr Schicksal aufmerksam zu machen, hat das päpstliche Hilfswerk „Kirche in Not“ oder international „Aid to the Church in Need“, den „Red Wednesday“ eingeführt, der alljährlich am vorletzten Mittwoch im November stattfindet.
So werden am 20.November 2024 Pfarreien, Gebetsgruppen aber auch Einzelpersonen für die verfolgten und bedrängten Christen beten. Und viele Kirchen, öffentliche Gebäude, Privathäuser oder eben auch nur das Wohnzimmer, werden in Erinnerung an das Blut der Märtyrer rot beleuchtet sein.

“Red Wednesday” 2024, November, 20th, 2024

In order to pray for the persecuted and disadvantaged Christians in the world and to draw attention to their fate, the papal aid organization "Kirche in Not" or internationally "Aid to the Church in Need" introduced the "Red Wednesday", which takes place every year on the penultimate Wednesday in November.
On November 20, 2024, parishes, prayer groups and individuals will pray for the persecuted and oppressed Christians. And many churches, public buildings, private houses or just the living room will be illuminated red in memory of the blood of the martyrs.

Wolverines are considered ruthless killers as they don't always kill their prey instantly but instead paralyze it by biting it in the spine. In the winter the wolverine may kill several reindeer in quick succession. This is typical for weasels as they kill animals for storage. The wolverine then returns to the carcass, just like the bear. It rips off the prey animal's neck tendons and rarely leaves any claw marks on the animal. The wolverine also often detaches the prey animal's head.

In Northern Finland where reindeer husbandry is practiced wolverines are unfortunately persecuted, regardless of their low numbers. Even though they are critically endangered poaching of this beautiful carnivore (and other large carnivores of Finland) is not uncommon there. Also, as unreasonable as it is, Finland's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry allows, and sets permits for wolverine hunting. Hunting of wolverines is outrageous and short sighted as there would be non-lethal methods available. The small population should be preserved, not hated and killed, as wolverines are an important part of the ecosystem and nature.

As per 2018 Finland paid 2700 euros or more per large predator (wolverine, wolf, lynx, bear) killed reindeer to the reindeer herder. For a single reindeer that herder sold for meat, he got around 500 euros. I am sure those numbers are higher today, but I wasn't able to find any reliable sources for that information. For this reason, some herders are known to buy reindeer calves, or use some of their adult reindeer, and intentionally leave them for the predators to kill. However, most of the Sami herders are honest and follow the law.

I photographed this hungry, salivating wolverine during early morning hours in Eastern Finland, by Russian border. He found some meat left for him as a bait in front of our photography hide.

During this trip, I was also informed that wolverines had recently been poisoned by the haters in the area. Such a beautiful animal doing what he is meant to do...be a wolverine. Sadly, there is less and less human kindness in this world.

Watch me in delight as I wallow in my hallucinations, delusions, distortions, noise, insanity and numbness contemplating while drowning in my failures…. I can take it, I will OWN it, you will not see me quiver nor flinch.... I will unconditionally beseech for more each and every time you swipe inflicting on me OVER and OVER and OVER again

Swipe taking your best shots with full force and no holding back as I will come searching for, hunting you in the dark whispers of a celestial night standing in the shadows at the very gates of hell where I announce my presence with wailing GRROWWLLLZ while making my way through the labyrinth crawling on my bleeding cursed hands and knees dragging my persecuted feet in shame to the depths of your lair where time stands still for eternity unleashing my wrath.... Pinning you down into the deep gritty earth of consumed souls with my foot as I tare your fucking tail off with my bare hands shoving it down your throat feeding it to you whole, allowing you to breathe solely through your nostrils while taking in overwhelming contentment watching you wide eyed with dilated pupils as you gag, splatter and choke…. Slowly peeling the scales off your body one by one with my fingernails watching in amusement as they weep.... Using your horns as reins while chewing through your thoracic anatomy with clotted blood dribbling down my face, neck and all over my torso as my GRROWWLLLZ echo off the chamber walls and throughout the labyrinth while looking deep into your soul through the window of your besieged eyes begging me for redemption as I drink in sacrifice warm foaming blood with every last heartbeat from your squirting aorta punishing you for all my failures and sins if you fail your calling and duty

Revive me each time when I fade to die as there is no glory in death without a journey full of suffering and pain, I seek retribution and wish to have consciousness while relishing in your inflictions 🔪🔪🔪 upon me

The Refugee is a haunting statue by Diana Brandenburg, in Chichester Cathedral. Brandenburger worked from 1977 as an Art Therapist for human rights organisation, The Medical Foundation (now Freedom from Torture), working with individuals and families who had suffered persecution.

The Scottish wildcat is a small feline with brown mottled fur and markings similar, but not identical, to that of a domestic tabby. It has a distinctive thick, blunt tail with a black tip and rings.

Not to be confused with domestic cats. The wildcat is stockier and more muscular. It has longer legs and a larger, flatter head with ears that stick out to the side. Fur markings can also help identification: wildcats do not have white feet or stomachs, and do not have a line down their tails, unlike tabby cats.

When I first came across this pack of 7 African Wild Dog on the way to Kasane Airport, this was the only one I could see.
We have had a lot of rain and the grass and forbs are really thick and high. It was only after sitting there for about an hour, did they start to come out into the open..
