Die Hansestadt Kyritz liegt im Landkreis Ostprignitz-Ruppin in Brandenburg; Skulptur Frederike und Podolski. © www.christoph-bellin.de Kyritz trägt im Volksmund den Beinamen „an der Knatter“. Das Geräusch der früher zahlreichen knatternden Wassermühlen an einem Nebenarm der Jäglitz war namensgebend. Heute ist dieser Nebenarm der Jäglitz verrohrt und von den fünf Wassermühlen existiert nur von einer noch das Gebäude. Auf einer Fläche von 156 km² leben in Kyritz ca. 9000 EinwohnerInnen.

Auf der anderen Rheinseite sieht man die Freitreppe "Kölner Rheinboulevard" von der man Domblick und Sonne genießen kann. Wenn die Sonne am Abend untergeht ist das ein besonderes Erlebnis.
