Kala Patthar is the spot for those who wish to see an up-close unobstructed view of Mount Everest. And at 5,643 meters, Kala Patthar is more than just a viewpoint. Given that it is higher than four of the seven summits, a trek to Kala Patthar is a journey. Kala Patthar is actually one of the few spots from which you can see an unobstructed view of Mount Everest. Because of the topography, the Lhotse wall blocks Everest from most vantage points. Mt Everest stood really tall from where i am . The right-most peak is Mt Nuptse (7,861 m/25,791 ft ) .Mt Everest (29,031 ft / 8,849m) is the visible peak behind the left ridge of Nuptse. Lho La ( 6,006 m/19,705 )located left to Everest .Self Photo , thanks for views !

Kyanjin Gompa, Nepal

Kyanjin Gompa, Nepal is one of the cooler villages we’ve stayed in while trekking. Usually, the only thing to do is rest after a long day of walking, but in Kyanjin there are tons of great things to do and lots of side treks to choose from depending on the difficulty level you’d like. From technical peak climbing to short walks, there’s something for everyone. And, did I mention the yak cheese? Even the food here is unique with its own specialty items.Trekking began in the area about 60 years ago (circa 1961) with camping. Later, around 1981, the first tea houses were built. The owner of the Panorama Hotel told us how he had a hotel in the village Lama Hotel in 1988 and back then dal bhat cost only 27 rupees (about 25 cents). In order to get yak milk to the villages, they would transport it in yak intestines because they had no jars or bags at the time. It was fun listening to his stories of what life was like back then. The name Kyanjin comes from a local myth that Kyanjin Gompa (monastery) was built on a rock that looked like camel ribs. Kyan means “camel” and jin means “ribs.” It’s believed that the Gompa is about 280-300 years old. The people who live in this area are Tibetan and came over from Tibet years earlier. En route to Tsergo Ri (Explore)

Tserko/Tsergo (5033 m/16,500 ft) Ri is another best view point but less popular and more difficult than the Kyanjin Ri. The Tserko Ri is named by the Tserko Peak 5700 Meters. The Tserko Ri hike is more time consuming and more difficult than the Kyanjin Ri Hike. If you want to hike to it then you should be quite good at walking plus there are also chances of the getting AMS While hiking to Tserko Ri. This hike offer a more clear view of the Yala Peak sides mountains. The Tserko Ri hike can be very tough if there is Snow on the Top . Most of the time there is snow on the top. Hiking there allows you to enjoy the wonderful landscapes of theLangtang Kyanjin Area and around the far side of the Terko Ri Peaks. If you are lucky you may also see some wild blue ship and thar. Apart from that, you will see the marvellous view of the Mountains peaks like Langtang Lirung 7,234 M, Langtang RI 7,205 M, Dorje Lakpa 6,966 M, Loenpo Gang 6,907 M, Changbu 6,781 M, Gangchenpo 6,387 M, Morimoto 6,150 M, Yala peak 5,520, Ganjala Peak, Ganjala pass and many other mountains.

Richard and Iain climbing Tserko Ri in April 2012

There was a lot of snow falling in the Himalayas in April which was threatening our summit attempt. We started our ascent at 4am as the weather every day was calm in the morning and becoming stormy every afternoon. We had amazing weather for the entire ascent, got the views on the top and hastily retreated. The weather as predicted turned for the worst just as we got back to the village.
