Turbulent Snyder Creek tumbles into Lake McDonald over a load of multi-colored boulders it dropped in earlier floods, just before dawn reaches the distant Belton Hills and Apgar Mountains to the Southwest.

Happy Water Wednesday!

Turnstone ( Arenaria interpres) during the moult of flight feathers, a truly delicate moment for these birds. Only one primary has grown, the rest are in progress and there are practically no secondaries. Imagine what this means for flight, balance, turbulence, propulsion, lift, maneuverability, etc.
I *do* like how this photo of my hotel lobby (with "Turbulence" by Venezuelan sculptor Rafael Barrios) turned out.
