FMCCS1007 24076 and 24044 Swindon

Swindon Works, probably in November 1976 judging by another photo on the Derby Sulzers Website. In view are withdrawn 24044 and 24076.
24044 was new from Crew as D5044 to Ipswich in October 1959 and withdrawn from Crewe in January 1976, It moved in convoy with 24076 and two others to Swindon on October 18th and was cut up in January 1977.
24076 was new as D5076 from Crewe Works to March in February 1960, withdrawn from Crewe in October 1975 it was also cut up in January 1977.

FMCCSclrslides430 D5044 Wellington

Don't have an exact date for this one, the year given was 1974 but the unidentified Class 24 (we think it’s 5044 see comments below) is carrying a pre tops number so it may be a couple of years prior to that. It is also green and carrying a late BR logo/crest.
The location given is Glynwed Foundry but that is not the name of the station (Wellington thanks to NDSJbelow) am assuming we are somewhere around the Telford/Ironbridge area. The 24 seems to be on MGR wagons which I would presume are either empty or few.
Help please!

FMCCS241 24040 24044 24025 Crewe

6th of March 1976 and the withdrawn 24's line at Crewe.
In view are 24040, 24044 and 24025.
All 3 ended up at Swindon and were cut up at different times in 1977.
If you like a bit of a mystery read up on 24025 on the excellent Derby Sulzers website as it seems it was actually D5005 rather than D5025. You can see in this photo it has the split frost screen just behind the cab which allowed for a white stripe when the locos were new and was only applied to D5000-5006.

FMcbwnegs314 D5044 March

March again in May 1963 but this time its a Class 24 light engine. With the house directly behind this the image could almost be from a model layout to me eyes.
I have slightly lost my bearings on this if someone can confirm which direction D5044 is heading in.
The loco was new to Ipswich in October 1959 and was back there again at this time. It was withdrawn from Crewe in January 1976.

FMCbwnegs196 D5044 at March 1963

March on an unknown date in 1963, Class 24 D5044 looks fairly ex-works or has had the small yellow warning panel added recently. The excellent Derby Sulzers website confirms in was seen in 1963 with the yellow panel.
I think the mixed freight is heading into Whitemoor Yard but an sure Mister C will correct me if I am wrong.
The loco was actually new to March in October 1959 but was an Ipswich loco at this time. It moved north to Stoke in August 1967 and was withdrawn in January 1976.

Don't have a date or location for this photo of Class 24 D5044.
The 24 does have a small yellow warning panel which it was noted with in May 1963 and its coupled to a Class 37 so it will probably before the loco moved to Stoke in August 1967 from Ipswich. It does look fairly ex-works and it did visit Derby in November 1965.
The loco was new to March in October 1959 and withdrawn from Crewe in January 1976.

Turn-up for the books

I know you've already seen the opposite "approaching" view of this scene but, well, it's worth another airing I think. A couple of track workers stand by, apparently not noticing or not caring that they are witnessing a mega-rare railway event. A pair of Class 24s trundle into ...Crewe? York? Gateshead? No, Bristol Bath Road ...having worked to Gloucester, itself a great rarity, and then been sent on for fuel and servicing. In my experience this occurrance was unique, and I think I was the only one who saw it, no other platform-ender being present. It was reported in Railway World. At least I had the camera with me, unlike the time I saw a Class 40 work into Paddington on a scheduled service. Friday 21st February 1975.
