And while going for said lunch at the adjacent Queens Road McDonalds, fancy that chance to go and see one of the real workhorses of the Bee Network, as of late, heading off on its way to the knacker's yard. Tranche 3's fleet changes see most of Stagecoach's B9TLs moved out of Queens Road towards Metroline, ending an association with the type there that started in 2007, but curiously, nine have been left out from this allocation and have still not appeared in service. This, I suspect from this photo, is probably to do with the fact they've apparently been run ragged - no surprise as some are now on their fourth operator - and may be being cannibalised for spares to support the remaining models in the fleet. So, naturally as this got caught at the lights, I grabbed my camera and tried my hand at shots out of the window for it. I mean, who else can say they managed to photograph their buses from a McDonalds?
Seen here hitched onto the back of an FAM Commercials wrecker and wrapped in cellophane to probably prevent bits of it from falling out while in transit, ex-Stagecoach Manchester 16838, a 2008 Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini new to First Manchester as their 37423, transferring to Go North West with Queens Road garage and later becoming 3257 before Queens Road was then transferred to Stagecoach, departs Queens Road for possibly the last time while stripped of parts inside and out.
