To have another tractor in front of my low loader I started to build this Scania R143 about three years ago. I took the cab of the T-cab and moved it forward on top of the front axle. To give a perfect fit an engine hub was needed, just like the real thing. I really didn’t want to modify the cab itself since it has to be equal to the T-cab. Scania’s 3-series range is having the same cab as basis for each model. The front I needed to design especially for this model. Originally it is based on Ingmar Spijkhoven’s T143 but he never finished a R-series himself unfortunately.
This particular model of course is remote controlled and has double drive and two steered axles. I put it in the livery of UK heavy hauler H.C. Wilson of Elmswell. The real thing still exist and was restored about a decade ago when I saw it arriving at the annual Truckstar Festival in the Netherlands. Here it’s fitted with a ballast box making it a prime mover. However, I don’t have a platform trailer for it right now but I’ll be merged to a Nooteboom Euro low loader.
Last but not least the credits to Jaaptechnic for the excellent stickers!
Since I’ve quite a backlog in picturing my models of last four years there’s a lot more to come.
