I finally got to posting the DU01 job. Between planting and such I kinda spaced it off.

Since the takeover of Pan Am Railways by CSX in June 2022, CSX power hasn't ventured to the corner of the system, until today! Rockingham-based local crew L063 rolls over the "new" Sarah Mildred Long Bridge, spanning the Piscatqua River, into Kittery, ME with one in tow. Today's power was led by CSXT 6152, a GP40-2 built for B&O in 1977, and accompanied by CSXT 2561, a GP38-2 built for L&N in 1972. In a couple hours, the crew made a trip into the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard to retrieve one loaded car and then returned to Portsmouth Yard.
The crew is nearing "Kittery Junction" where the York Harbor and Beach Railroad once split from the Boston & Maine's Eastern Route Mainline. Beyond this location, the Eastern Route was abandoned in the 1940s in favor of the Western Route Mainline (original B&M alignment). This route sees little action a year, but remains intact to service the Shipyard.
The conductor on the local L136 prepares to perform a roll-by visual inspection of a westbound track geometry car at Bittinger, PA. This is near the west end of the Hanover Yard Limits. The L136 has just picked up three cars to take back to the small yard at Center St in Hanover, PA and is sitting on the "New Siding". To the left is what was once known as the "Old Siding" but is now just the east leg of the wye for the Vulcan Materials Quarry. April 9, 2025. Fujifilm Superia Xtra 400, Nikon S2.
