The year 1911 lingers among us even yet, in the form of a beige-colored duplex with green trim, in two kinds of siding. by Tim Kiser

The duplex is haunted by sounds of scratchy recordings of dreadful popular songs from the year it was built, such as "Oh, You Beautiful Doll" and "Archibald! Certainly Not." Purge my memories!

Ravenna - Basilica San Vitale - Dome of the Church by oriana.italy

Hemispheric dome - depicted by baroque frescoes of the cupola - supported by eight big arches standing on gigantic fan shaped pillars.

The Church of San Vitale, a masterpiece of Byzantine Art in Ravenna, was completed during the reign of the Emperor Justinian.

The church was begun by Bishop Ecclesius under the Ostrogothic queen Amalasuntha (d. 535) and was consecrated in 547.
