1955 Chevy tailgate by BCooner

1955 Chevy tailgate

This was a large custom order for my best customer, who has commissioned automotive art of his truck from several sides now.

A tailgate was something new, I enjoyed working from on a piece from a new angle, and the result was a good looking piece.

The large one is about a foot wide, and comes with stands for shelf display, and a hanging bracket for wall display.

The small fun size ones are about four inches wide, and were pretty much a scaled down version of the big one.

Toyota FJ80 Land Cruiser in miniature, as a fridge magnet laser engraved in maple.

I remember the stock wheels being rather tricky to capture on this model.

1955 Chevy 3200 frontend

Laser engraved 1955 Chevy 3200 frontend. This work was requested by the owner of a beautiful example of the real thing.

At a foot wide, this is one of the larger pieces I've made.
This shot shows the radiator fins engraved into the back layer (behind the egg crate grill).

Mark III

I made this laser cut and engraved rendition of Tony Stark's Iron Man Mark III helmet on a stand, for a friend who's the biggest Iron Man fan I've ever met.

it's made from maple, cherry and acrylic, with eyes from blue acrylic, lit by led's tied to a motion sensor.

The bottom of the base is removable for changing the coin battery that lights the eyes, and accessing the on/off switch. I leave plenty of wire in a project like this when I can in case future me wants to fiddle with the circuitry. This was a gift, however, so isn't likely to see any mods.
