An image captured while walking the Gothic Palace Tour in Lehman Caves in Great Basin National Park to one of the many wondrous views in a a limestone chamber filled with stalactites, stalagmites and other geological formations. What drew me into this setting was the icicle-like daggers seemingly hanging from the cavern ceiling above. To capture this image, I let my Nikon D850 SLR camera go to the highest ISO setting acceptable and braced myself using nearby support railing.

My thinking in composing the image was to center the main group formation in the image center, exposing for the brighter, lighted area. I later pulled out the areas in darkness and used control point to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

The ranger gives a great explanation of the unique cave formations and answered 99% of all questions asked.
