Colorful Rainbow Row Charm - Charleston SC has the historic houses along the waterfront that are all painted in all different colors on east bay street. We capture this image early in the morning after the sun came up as it was showing the vibrant colors best. From this view point we could see blue, green, purple, and pink houses in these wonderful pastel colors just oozing with Charleston charm. These historic Georgian home are an iconic site and is a must see when you visit Charleston. In the beginning of rainbow row was a series of businesses where the merchant would work out of the ground floor and live upstairs. They were not painted in pastel at this time and for a period of time after the civil war this area was run down. Then a couple bought several home in 1931 and painted them different pastel colors. Others who own homes followed suit and pretty soon this whole street had different colors of pastel homes. This colorful homes just adds to that Charleston charm that you find in this holy city. Another capture of Fine Arts of America in Charleston SC.
