The super charming Majorette Renault 4L Van debuted early last year in their French Touch series though did take quite some time to actually appear in Europe, even France!
French Touch means French themed liveries and places with this one paying homage to the Place De La Bastille. Nothing particularly era appropriate for this classic long running commercial vehicle though i'm certain better recolours will appear in due time.
Pretty similar to its predecessor casting with a lovely weighty feeling though where it lacks the original metal baseplate it does benefit from opening front doors.

After seriously struggling to find any of the new Majorette Renault 4L Vans in both Hong Kong and even France I did eventually get lucky in TK Maxx of all places! However a friend who owns a place out in France did also very kindly find me two more whilst there.
An absolutely superb homage to their original casting which no longer exists but benefitting from modern techniques to paint and detailing. A once very common commercial vehicle throughout Europe even here in the UK and one which offered more useable cargo space than your contemporary Morris Marina and Ford Escort based vans.

For me personally this was one of my most eagerly anticipated new Majorette of 2024 and yet proved ridiculously elusive to find! The French Touch series did actually appear whilst I was in Hong Kong in the middle of last year but despite my best efforts they sold out immediately in all the local stockists! Some months later this assortment did appear in France but again I failed to find any despite spending two weeks there and visiting lots of stockists!
In typical fashion I finally found one much closer to home in my local TK Maxx just a few weeks ago ;-p In case you were wondering it isn't a reissue of the original casting as that doesn't exist anymore but is certainly a worthy successor. A van once seen everywhere, particularly in France and Spain, the pert little Renault 4L has been captured beautifully by Majorette and will without doubt be seen in other liveries and colours in the near future.
It might only be a utilitarian commercial vehicle diecast but that hasn't stopped Majorette from furnishing this model with crisp opening front doors, clear lense headlights and squishy suspension. Most certainly worth the wait!
