Ruddy Turnstone / arenaria iterpres. Ness Point, Lowestoft, Suffolk. 11/02/15.
There were a sizeable flock of Turnstones feeding with Purple Sandpipers. They were more mobile and vocal than the PS's initially, then most settled higher up the rocks to roost.

For the unwary there are plenty of signs to warn of both crumbling cliffs and fast moving high tides. Hope the guy picking up rocks by the bottom of the cliffs remembers!!! :>)

Picked the sunniest day forecast this week & took a trip to the north Norfolk Coast. It was cool but there was some sun in amongst the grey clouds.

This shot taken towards the west into the sun shows some of the seaweed- covered rocks uncovered on the beach when the tide goes out. The tall marker post shows the end of one of the old wooden breakwaters of which there are many on this beach at Hunstanton.
