Sundial at Stydd this sundial come bird feeding table was in the gardens of the Alms Houses at Stydd and looks to be reasonably new, it doesn’t look as old as the houses, which made me wonder about their knowing the time then, I would think it would be done naturally because it was something they knew and were used to, before the invention of the clock the sundial was the only source of time; the first mechanical clock was completed in China in AD725; A sundial tells the time of day by the apparent position of the sun in the sky, wonder what happened in Winter and on cloudy days, was it a good excuse for being late do you think? So now is the TIME to wish you all a very Happy New Year with thanks to one and all who took the time to look. Thank You
