The size and depth of the lake change dramatically depending on wet or dry season, so structures can't sit on pylons. There are also floating stores, schools, storehouses, henhouses and other structures. Most people are engaged in fishing or trading.

The Sangké River runs for 250km in northwestern Cambodia, linking the small city of Battambang to the Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest lake. In this photo, the river is approaching the lake.
