There are parts on the path where the doorway is really low

I am now walking back through the Rock Garden which I have covered in some detail earlier in this album. I will therefore now only point out things as I see them. Despite the broad sweep of the Rock Garden, we did encounter some truly narrow pathways. Here is a doorway on the way to the exit. Now this one is really low, and a local tourist ahead of me has to really bend to get through. Note that the wall is made entirely from broken wall sockets and plugs. The brown wall to the right is made from broken drainage pipes. Detailed notes about the Rock Garden appear in previous captions earlier in this album. (Chandigarh, north India, Nov. 2017)

Another low doorway inside the Rock Garden

Another low doorway in the Rock Garden. This seems to connect to another path alongside, and is in all probability a service entrance for maintenance staff- not too many members of the public were going in there. If that is so, it would be rather inconvenient to carry construction materials and equipment through this narrow and low doorway. Detailed notes about the Rock Garden appear in previous captions earlier in this album. (Chandigarh, north India, Nov. 2017)

The Crouching Tiger by S@RG@M

The Crouching Tiger

T-17 or Sundari is the 4 year old daughter of the legendary tigress Machali (Machli). She has a radio collar around her neck which is used to undertake scientific studies on aspects such as tiger movement, extent of area covered, etc. It is strictly NOT used for tracking the tiger for the benefit of tourists during tiger safaris. The presence of a radio collar poses a peculiar problem for photographers... in that, nobody would love to have a picture of a wild tiger with a collar around its neck! The solution is to either photograph her from the front or at an angle such that the collar is not visible... but then, the angle is not under one's control since the tiger is the King of the jungle and it does not move as per a tourist's whims and fancies!

Daylight Saving Time worked in my favor today by extending the sunlight to nearly 8 PM. Shooting sports in daylight is much different from stadium lighting. I photogged the SAHS Lady Jackets battle the Menendez Lady Falcons in softball.

In between innings, the umpire stooped down to brush off home plate. Swish, swish, snap, snap, woot woot!

This scene struck me as a great candidate for that olde-timey nostalgic feel. I brought the tones and black and white conversion exactly to my liking, but I was unable to add noise or (preferably) grain in Aperture 3. I kept the noise captured by my camera, though. (Anyone know of a noise secret in A3?)

Dust off your monitor and check this out.

Additional, more sporty photos are online with the newspaper article.
