I once had a client write me. They wanted a photograph of Sloan Peak, which would be for their daughter "Sloan". I thought, "Now that's a cool name!"

She ultimately chose another image I had of Sloan, but while digging through my catalog for images I had of the peak, I found this one taken in mid-winter from the Painted Traverse.

After my last mid-winter shutdown I recalled the pleasant weather we had during this adventure and the fantastic sunset. I realize these evenings are rare and what I crave most, more than even powder, in my ski adventures.

I usually don't do a lot of Photoshop'ing of these photos (aside from fixing stitching errors), but I really hated that I couldn't crop out the car on the right, so I added a little bit of the gauze.

The tenacity and ability of this butterfly to hang on while this bloom was moving like crazy fascinated me. Nature is amazing.

In a few hours, we will be with the grandkids in Phoenix. i have a feeling I'll find them amazing also. Hope your day is equally fun.
