Replaced a cheap old unit that was white, hard to keep clean, and the carafe finally met its maker. This one happened to be reduced in price by over 50% and had a bonus water jug with a filter as part of the purchase. A Boxing Day ( week) price.

Salton’s journey began in 1945 when Toastess Inc. was founded by two visionary brothers in Montreal, revolutionizing the small appliance market with award-winning designs like the first non-bell-shaped electric kettle. Toastess led Canadian innovation by developing the first hot air corn popper using a unique whirlpool airflow and introducing Canada’s first immersible deep fryers. Meanwhile, in the United States, Lewis Salton was making waves with the invention of the Hotray, a heated serving cart on wheels, setting the stage for a legacy of convenience and quality that defined the 1950s to the 1970s. Salton expanded its range with ice cream makers, peanut butter grinders, and more, becoming a household name synonymous with innovation.
Today, Salton proudly stands as a 100% Canadian-owned company with a thriving presence across Canada, the USA, and beyond.

Winter Dunkel starts with chocolate and wheat malts and then add a liberal helping of 100% organic chocolate. We then steep the brew with authentic orange zest and coriander in our pure copper kettles during boil. The result is rich, full-bodied, subtly sweet – and with a decidedly chocolate orange finish.
