Vantage Bridge construction, Columbia River, Vantage Washington (photograph by my father, 1961)
I look at construction photographs shot by my Father and Grandfather and see the roots of my own style of documentation photography. I am drawn to photographs where art takes a backseat to the facts. This photograph was shot with a Voigtlander camera, loaded with 35mm Kodak slide film. The completion of Wanapun Dam necessitated the building of this new higher bridge.

Tuesday at Inverbreakie, that's not right
All because my wife invited people over on Sunday, so today’s walk was the late Sunday walk. Unfortunately the tide was further out than I hoped so the birds were a bit far away, but at least the breakers yard was close.
Once the #wisconsinhistoricalmuseum building and its adjacent neighbors come down, a temporary view of the capitol unseen for over 100 years will be on full display. It remains to be seen how the new museum will fare with the public, but we'll have to wait until late 2026 to find out.
An old 1960s Era Link-Belt crane truck abandoned near Washtucna, Washington. A custom weld on the rusty metal frame mounted on the front of the truck says "Smoke's Goat".
