The Flickr Rebuild Image Generatr

Originally built as a GP7 for the Illinois Central as IC 8977, this Geep has turned a lot of miles since its manufacture in April 1953.

It was rebuilt in 1971 at the IC's Paducah, KY shops into a GP10, becoming IC 8260. The locomotive became ICG 8260, before being sold to the Chicago, Central, & Pacific when ICG spun off their Iowa lines in 1985. The next 11 years were spent as CC 8260 and CC 1760 before Illinois Central re-acquired the Iowa lines in 1996.

Eventually, the locomotive was acquired by Railway Switching Services (Railserve), becoming RSSX 8260. Its current assignment is to switch pellet hoppers for Chevron Phillips at their Pasadena Plastics Complex in the Port of Houston.

Under threatening skies, NS 9620 rolls through Chester, SC on its way south to Columbia. This units clearly seen better days and its beginning to show its age. Today this units been sold to Ferromex as an AC44C6M core and will likely serve its final days in the Mexican Deserts.

NS 4827 sits on a somehow lawed out NS P36 just outside Rock Hill, SC. These C6Ms have overun the R lines local pool for about two years now. Take what you can I guess.

One of the black and tuscan red scheme AC44C6Ms pulls the Z-AUGSBD into track 4 north in Springfield Yard.

Bringing the Z-AUGSBD past the Brookline Fire Station with its nice P5 horn blowing for the crossing.

On the trip home a target of opportunity presented itself on a picture perfect afternoon in Ladysmith. Southbound signals were lined up through the junction with the Barron Sub. A short wait was rewarded with this clean rebuilt unit heading up a long manifest. September 23, 2024.

As it races the setting sun, a westbound UP freight crosses Cienega Creek on its trip down the Sunset Route. Several saguaro cacti can be found along the Cienega and surrounding foothills in these parts.

One of the old city gates, Geulpoort (the original dated 14th century, it's now fully reconstructed in 2014). the original gate was demolished in the 17th century. Notice how th citywalls must have looked like.
