A peaceful morning along the Columbia River is briefly disturbed by the usual passage of BNSF's Portland to Chicago Z-train, curving along the terrain of the lower Columbia Hills. Both Mount Hood and Horsethief Butte prominently stand out in this frame, and the very top section of The Dalles Dam can also be seen towards the top of the river.

One of FXE's newest purchases is this AC44C6M, going east on BNSF's Q-LACLPC6-02. The unit was bought from NS after going through the Wabtec rebuild program, but before delivery. NS changed its mind and wanted to space out their delivery of units longer than what was planned. FXE was in immediate need of units and purchased these from the NS and had them repainted into a primer coat and delivered for use. Eventually they will get the new red and gray FXE scheme when traffic levels permit.
