Svanemølleværket (Explore 30th July 2022)

Svanemølle Power Station was built by Københavns Belysningsvæsen between 1947 and 1953 to supplement H. C. Ørsted Power Station in the Kongens Enghave. It was designed by Louis Hygom who had already carried out expansions and adaptions of the H. C. Ørsted plant in 1924 and 1932.

The plant was originally coal-fired but was converted to natural gas and oil firing in 1985. In 1995 two old generators were replaced by a gas turbine.

Kungshuset, the "King's House", is a building in Lund in Sweden, built by the Danish king Frederick II between 1578 and 1584 and originally intended as the residence for the bishop of Lund. After the secession of the Scanian lands to Sweden at the Treaty of Roskilde 1658 Lund University was founded in 1666 to enhance the Swedification of the Danish provinces. King Charles XI of Sweden donated the building to the university in 1688 to serve as its main building and library.

Tramweg Stichting jubileum in Hoorn. For the (Amsterdam) purists amongst us there may be inquiries regarding trams on heavy railtrack, the 301 back in Utrecht livery for this occasion. Politics aside many old Amsterdam trams were rescued thanks to hospitality of the TS in Hoorn.

At the time (1971) the latest acquisition of the Amsterdam tram company GVB was a Mercedes Unimog, here hooked up with the oldest tram chassis E1, the frame used to be a horsetram trailer.
The unique combination was undertaking maintenance work at night on the the overhead wires of line 17 where road bound vehicles had no access.
