In the spring of 1990, I heard some railway fellows talk about Wolsztyn. So I wanted to look at it myself. At the end of June, beginning of July, I drove to Wolsztyn for a few days. When I left the GDR, the old East German money was still valid, when I came back, it was already history. For my trip, this meant that I had no opportunity to change money in Poland. I had to exchange all the money in advance and had to hope that it was enough for the entire trip. For safety reasons, I took with me some spirits and sausages, which I sold on the Poznan market.
