Riding around the countryside in Lithuania, while visiting our family members, was a very interesting experience - full of surpirses to be precise.
Just outisde of Vilnius we came off the motorway onto a smaller road and passed the town of Rudamina. There, by the roadside, stood an odd truck, which I diregarded as uninteresting at first, but then asked my dad to reverse at the nearest roundoubout and took the photo.
Only after I had come home I could read up on what this may be. A close up shot revealed a familiar name on the hood - ГАЗ.
What? It can't be!
That is how I found out about the GAZ brand's more recent products, which are lesser known to us (our knowledge ends on GAZ-53 and GAZ-66 :).
The fourth generation GAZ includes various versions and started being produced in 1989. They inherited many features known from previous models however they were fitted with a more modern looking cab (despite this, it still wasn't a cab-over). Across the years, they underwent many minor modernisations, mainly to the engine (the latest one complying with Euro 3!). Their production ended just 4 years ago.
