I have made a good dent in the beginning of my journal. The first few pages of a new journal really are more of an introduction, and a bit of a document of what I want to remember of my starting point and what I want to become of my days as I write and evolve as a person. As with most things in life... it's a process.

Happy Easter! We had a big family gathering which was fun to see people we don't get to see too often. We made lemon and orange mini cheesecakes, and a sweet potato casserole. All of the food was good, and it was a nice day out for an Easter Egg hunt.

Today I wrote the last word in my fourth journal, page 12,000, and began work on my fifth journal.
Each journal is a collection of four sub-journals, each being 750 pages, so a total of 3,000 pages per journal. Somehow it's just easier to break them down into four parts, and each part takes a little under a year to complete.
When I finish a journal, whether it is one of the four parts within the journal, or the journal itself, I about the beginning and when I started the very first page- now over twenty years ago. I wish I had not set down my journal for a period of time, but I had other priorities and things going on. All that matters is that I am writing and going through the journey on my pages now...

I have kept nearly every greeting card that I have received from family and close friends.
I keep them for sentimental value of course, but it's never the card as much as the physical, hand-written notes added in a card. Sometimes it's just the simple signing like this, where I am instantly taken back in time to remember my grandmother's writing... then I remember her laugh... I remember her stories, and I miss her with a smile on my face.
I may have lost her to Heaven but I still have these things that she once held in her hand, thought of me, and wrote something sweet and personal to me. Who's a sentimental fool, you say???

We decided to read this book for May, after our tour of the Holocaust museum in March. I have read this before, long ago, but it's still just as impactful today as it was when I read it. I am glad, if nothing else, that stories like this survived the war lest we forget what happened.

And like that, we are off for another grand adventure…
This adventure will take us to Baltimore where we can spend time with her family, and then we have a business meeting the week after. It's going to be a very busy but fun couple of weeks!
