The sun goes down, leaving a ruddy pink glow in an otherwise completely clear blue sky on a cold winter's day. The ambient air temperature was about minus twenty-four degrees Celsius when I took the photos that made this panorama.
This is a panoramic photo comprising twenty-seven individual exposures covering a range of plus and minus 3 f-stops. IN other words, 9 groups of three bracketed exposures which were then merged and sewn to create the final; product. Original images taken with the Canon EOS R and RF 24-105mm f/4.0 L mounted to a sturdy tripod. All images processed from raw in Adobe Lightroom.
Sarlat-la-Canéda, Dordogne.
Sometimes you just have to let the border behind you and go completely "over the top".
First step: Three RAW-exposures right out the camera (-2,0,+2).
Next step: Split every RAW into 9 different TIF-exposures (-4, -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4). This gives you a range from -6 up to +6 and 27 (3 x 9 different tiffs) . Do some HDR processing, adjust some levels, contrast and sharpness. And finally an overlay-layer with about 20% transparancy.
Exactly as I can remember this medieval town............almost ;-)
I was a little late to the largest Flickr meetup in Los Angeles history, but I did make it and finally saw the Walt Disney Concert Hall which I had been planning on for years. Just never made it down there.
My Tamron 17-50 2.8 wasn't wide enough to get the entire concert hall in one shot so I had to practice my vertorama skill here. I took 9 exposures, 3 different times and then used CS3 to merge them all together. I know it's not perfect, but this took me upwards of an hour straight to get everything from the building to match up, the clouds, and everything. So remember this is a merge of 27 photos and next time I'll do it right. :)
It was great meeting up with our fearless leader Patrick who organized the event. He's a great guy. Good enough for me to shoot his wedding in 2007.
Sorry I missed most of you guys since the LA traffic had me a little late, but I did meet a couple of you guys and next time......... on time. Promise/mean it.
