I FIORI COME LI VEDO IO....CROCUS

FIORITURA TARDIVA

Depending on the area, altitude and climate, the flowering of the alpine crocus offers a magnificent spectacle from mid-April to June.

CORDOVADO.

ON THE LEFT DETAIL OF PALAZZO AGRICOLA

Built on a prehistoric “castelliere” and a subsequent Roman settlement, the castle of Cordovado was erected around the 11th century to defend the territory from the raids of the Hungarians.
In the 16th century, after the collapses caused by the violent earthquake of 1511, the current palace was built on the foundations of the ancient manor - Villa Piccolomini Freschi - of which the Counts Freschi of Cuccanea became owners by succession and later the Counts Piccolomini of Siena. Of the original structure of the castle remain the two shielded towers and part of the very well preserved walls. Inside the latter are the 12th century church, the 15th century Palazzo Agricola, the imposing villa, the romantic park from the early 19th century and the medieval houses.

THE BLUE DAMSEL

The common blue dragonfly is, as its name suggests, a blue dragonfly, very common and easy to spot.
It belongs to the group of the so-called "damsels", that is, dragonflies belonging to the Zygoptera group, characterized by their thin, very fine body, so much so that they can go unnoticed at a distracted glance.
It is found in all forms of still or almost still water.
