A walk around Buckingham Park after work. The Horse Chestnut Trees caught my eye..
From a distance, those big flower spikes on Horse Chestnut trees look like big white candles, but up close each individual blossom is surprisingly colourful!
A particularly low-hanging branch provided a rare opportunity to shoot a horse chestnut flower stalk straight on. Notice the fine detail and subtle colours at the hearts of each of the individual blooms that makes up the impressive ‘candelabra’ of bloom.

I have two normal routes to the river through parkland, both featuring large, mature chestnut trees and all currently turning greener and greener and gorgeouser (probably not a word) and greatly pleasing on the eye and mind.
